“KEEPING DREAMS ALIVE”: Raising Dollars for Scholars
Friday, February 19, 2010
6:00pm - 9:00pm
University of California, RIverside

Dear Friends:

Providing Opportunities, Dreams, and Education in Riverside (PODER) at
UC Riverside will be hosting a fundraising event, “KEEPING DREAMS
ALIVE”: Raising Dollars for Scholars Banquet on Friday, February 19, 2010
at UC Riverside.  The event is scheduled to take place in the Highlander
Union Building Banquet Room (302) with tickets priced at $30.00 each.
PODER is a student organization dedicated to disseminating information,
developing resources and providing a support network for AB540 students
who are pursuing higher education.

You may be aware the Regents of the University of California voted to
increase fees by 32%, making it more challenging for many students,
especially the AB540 students, to continue with their education. We are
aware that there are students now faced with the decision of possibly having
to leave the university due to the additional burden placed by the fee
increase.  PODER, along with Chicano Student Programs, Riverside Latino
Voter Project and many other friends would like to establish a fund for AB540
students that would provide resources to assist them in remaining at the
university.

-please plan on attending - we have tickets in the office, we can mail them to
you or our students are willing to deliver them to you
-please forward to your colleagues, family and friends
-sponsorship opportunities available - if you are interested I can send you
the forms.
