Immigration Policy Recommendation

The California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC)
recognizes the fundamental importance of a revised
immigration policy which addresses the needs of both the
U.S. citizens as well as the countless immigrants residing
within our borders and contributing to the U.S. economy
and to our social fabric. We thus recommend that the
following principles be applied to the nation's revised
immigration policy:

  • Institute a non-discriminatory and effective program
    to strengthen U.S. borders

  • Recognize the significant contribution of all
    immigrants

  • Protect our economy and California small businesses
by allowing continuing participation of our immigrant
    workforce

  • Avoid placing the burden of immigrant validation on
    California businesses

  • Encourage English language proficiency while
acknowledging the value of multi-lingual capabilities
    in our society
